GETTING HELP
Though we live in an interesting place, Tashkent can be very lonely for people in the expat community looking for support with a drinking problem. Having a weekly place to go to get support from others trying to conquer a drinking problem can help immeasurably, which is why we invite you to join us every Tuesday from 6:00 - 7:00 pm at the Tashkent International Clinic for an English language meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous. There are no dues or fees for membership, just a desire to stop drinking. Maintaining the privacy of members is sacrosanct, and you need never fear that your identity as a struggling drinker will be revealed. |
WHAT HAPPENS AT MEETINGS?
Meetings will start promptly at 6:00, but you are welcome to join us at any time during the hour (Tashkent traffic can be tricky). Generally the Chairperson will share something about their efforts to get sober and introduce a topic; members may share their own stories, contribute to the topic at hand - or just listen. All contributions are geared towards helping fellow alcoholics learn to live comfortably as sober former drinkers. Coming to meetings provides you with a sober support community with whom to socialize and learn that you are not alone in your struggles. Freedom is possible. |
